What a great article. You sound truly amazing. At 54, I’m starting to look at sexuality differently. The 80s were a strange time for young women, so many different messages. As a side note, I rewatched your performance of “Damn”, you move wonderfully- not like the women of that time period. Keep being you.

Sophie, I just found Your website. Don’t know how it happened, but it’s the middle of the night and YT suggested one of Your songs and one “click” after another I’m here and….
I’m really sorry to read about Your loss.
We’re meeting people, they’re becoming important to us, they’re becoming a part of our lives, and they are. Day after day, year after another, they are still with us, here and there, but they are, and suddenly…. And even though we know, from the very begging, that we are here only for a moment. Just to try another life, just to gain new experience. Even we know all of that, it’s difficult and sometimes almost impossible to accept, that the close to us person, won’t continue the journey with us any more.
We can cherish memories, moments, words, watching photos and videos, this way loved ones who passed away, can continue with us, in a way our journey.
And I’m glad that You met Ralph, thanks to that, I can now listen to Your music.

Dear Sophie and readers; I wish to respond to and expand on your observation that Jesus is the body of a man with the heart and soul of a woman. I wish to examine this because you are so close to something that I think you feel in your heart and want to believe in. The best record of Jesus’ life remains the Holy Bible which makes at least two points clear: Jesus is the Son of God, and God is Spirit – neither male nor female. In fact, Jesus was simply the best earth suit God (in the Creator/Father role) could find at the time, and any good priest, rabbi, or pastor could lead you through why the male form was necessary. But to believe in Jesus in no way diminishes or omits the natural authority and dominion of womanhood. Genesis chapter 1 describes the Deity as giving authority/dominion over the earth to both man and woman. The law and commandments define man and woman as sacred. Pointedly, please do not stumble over Christianity as a monotheistic gender-based religion. I invite, encourage, and exhort you to read and explore for yourself whether the Scriptures are true and cohesive and reflect the world as you know it to be and offer you something you have been looking for. Thank you for taking time to read my comment, and thank you Sophie for developing your gifts and bringing them out to the world, I have been blessed by your songs.

I have always loved your work and I was working in DC and at XM radio 2001-2010 now alone and hopeful caring and daily mass Catholic and Catechist and Knight of Columbus and was married to an Asian woman in Hawaii 1988-2010 and raised three sons but wife divorced me in 2010 tried counseling that failed so got an annulment in 2015 now alone and hopeful caring and loving honest caring and I am a one woman only man who cares about life
